LFHS announces auditions for 2025–2026 Student Directed One Acts

Lake Forest Community High School has announced auditions for the 2025–2026 Student Directed One Acts, inviting all students, whether new or experienced performers. The auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Raymond Moore Auditorium. No monologue preparation is required, and students unable to attend in person may submit a 1–2 minute video by 4 p.m. on the same day.

According to Lake Forest Schools, the performances will take place on Saturday, August 30, at 7 p.m. in the Raymond Moore Auditorium (RMA). Tickets will be available at the door for $5 for students and $10 for adults, payable by cash or check. Students interested in joining the stage or tech crew can start during the week of August 25 by contacting Mr. Holmer via email. To participate, students must join the SDOA 2025 Remind group by August 20 and complete an audition form listing any scheduling conflicts. The program promises a fast-paced, 10-day production where all students who audition will be cast, making it an inclusive opportunity to gain theater experience and kick off the school’s season.

Lake Forest High School was established in 1935 as a public secondary school in Lake Forest, Illinois, serving grades 9 through 12. Approximately 95% of its students pursue higher education with support from personalized instruction and a collaborative school environment. The school emphasizes mutual respect, high expectations, and a sense of belonging while serving the communities of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood under its motto "Pursuits become habits."

Lake Forest Community High School District 115 serves approximately 1,500 students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood in grades 9 through 12. According to Lake Forest Schools, the district offers a range of academic programs including advanced placement courses and specialized electives alongside extracurricular activities such as athletics and performing arts.
