Students at United Township High School in East Moline received several updates and reminders on October 27, 2025, including information about lunch menus, school events, and club activities.

The cafeteria menu for the day included spicy chicken and pork tenderloin sandwiches on whole grain buns, mixed green salad, oven-baked sweet potato fries, baked beans, and assorted fresh fruit.

With colder weather arriving, students were reminded to wear jackets outdoors but not inside the building. Teachers will ask students to put jackets in their lockers if worn indoors. "Failure to do so could result in a referral out of class. Thanks for your understanding," the announcement stated.

The ESL department and Multicultural Club are co-sponsoring a Day of the Dead ofrenda in the Center hallway through November 4. The altar is open for all students to contribute photos or trinkets in memory of loved ones. Items should be given to Ms. Enburg in room 261W or sent by email for printing. All contributions must be school-appropriate and approved.

A Student Hunger Drive can collection runs from October 27 through October 31 in front of the auditorium each morning. Each day features a different theme for donations: condiments on Monday; peanut butter and jelly on Tuesday; canned goods on Wednesday; cake and brownie mixes on Thursday; and cereal boxes on Friday. Students donating three cans at Octeen can receive a 10% discount on an energizing drink.

IJAG students were instructed to report to the auditorium at 1:00 p.m. for the installation ceremony of new officers for the 2025-2026 year. Mrs. Reagan Baker, former UT IJAG Specialist, was scheduled as guest speaker.

Guidance announcements highlighted Black Hawk College's Resource Fair being held at UTHS on Halloween, October 31, with free application opportunities during the event. Students were encouraged to contact their counselors or Mr. Davis for more information.

Deloitte & Touche representatives visited UT during third period to present to business classes in the auditorium. Interested students who had not signed up were advised to speak with business faculty members Mr. Miller, Mr. Howe, or Ms. Secor.

Sports meetings were announced for wrestlers (mandatory meeting after school November 4), boys interested in basketball (meeting November 4 after school), and girls interested in soccer (meeting at 3:15 p.m., October 27).

Clubs also shared upcoming events: LGBT+ club planned a Halloween-themed meeting after school Tuesday, October 28; Tri-M Music Honor Society scheduled its Music Bingo Night for November 7; Hope Club set its next meeting for Wednesday afternoon; Student Council announced it would not meet this week due to ongoing can collections.
