The Lincolnshire Prairie View School District 103 has announced that law enforcement drills, as required by the School Safety Drill Act, will be conducted at Daniel Wright Junior High School, Half Day School, and Laura B. Sprague School on Wednesday, November 5. The act mandates that each school building must hold three evacuation drills, one bus evacuation drill, one severe weather drill, and one law enforcement drill focused on responding to an active shooter incident during the academic year. Additional drills may be conducted at the discretion of the administration.

Law enforcement drills are announced in advance. Parents who wish to opt their child out of the emergency response drill must complete an opt-out form for Daniel Wright, Half Day, or Sprague schools by noon on Monday, November 3.

District officials emphasize the importance of open communication to prevent armed intruder situations. They state that warning signs are often present before school tragedies but may not be reported or taken seriously. Students in District 103 are encouraged to speak with a trusted adult if they see or hear anything concerning. The district advises parents with questions about the law enforcement drill to contact their child's principal.
