Madelyn Welbel of Antioch, Illinois, has been selected to serve on the 2025-26 Dean’s Advisory Council at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s College of Education and Professional Studies. Welbel is currently studying psychology at the university.

The Dean’s Advisory Council acts as a link between students and the college administration. The council advises the dean by making recommendations about college needs, services, programs, and general operations. It also works to connect students with resources and strengthen communication among students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Council members serve one-year terms and are chosen to represent a balance of majors and degree levels. Students may be invited to join by their major department or as representatives of student organizations. Meetings are held monthly during the academic year.

The College of Education and Professional Studies at UW-Whitewater graduates more licensed teachers than any other institution in Wisconsin. In the previous fall semester, 179 Warhawks were placed as student teachers across the region. Additional information about the Dean’s Advisory Council can be found at uww.edu/coeps.
