The Waukegan City Council has approved a professional services agreement with Emerging Communities Development LLC for development advisory services. Retired Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian will provide these services.

According to the Waukegan City Council’s agenda for its July 1 meeting, the Department of Planning and Zoning identified a need to retain a consultant to advise the city on redeveloping certain lakefront and downtown properties during the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

The one-year contract is valued at $36,000, or $3,600 per month, as stated in the council’s agenda.

Alderperson Lynn Florian moved and Alderperson Edith Newsome seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, according to the council’s agenda.
