Registration is now open for the Woodchucks Summer Camp, available to residents of Hawthorn Woods. The camp offers activities aimed at providing children with opportunities to socialize, try new experiences, and participate in outdoor play.

The camp has two programs based on age groups. The Woodchucks Pups program is designed for children ages 3 through kindergarten and will be held at Community Park, located at 5 Park View Ln, Hawthorn Woods, IL. Sessions run Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

For children entering first through eighth grade, the Woodchucks program takes place at Heritage Oaks Park, 310 N Fairfield Rd, Hawthorn Woods, IL. This program also runs Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Campers in both programs will take part in crafts, games, sports, and other activities. Each week includes an hour of swimming at the Hawthorn Woods Aquatic Center if weather conditions allow. The camp schedule features guest speakers and additional attractions throughout the summer.

General registration opens March 23. Residents can register online by visiting the Village of Hawthorn Woods’ registration page (https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/vhw/activity/search?activity_select_param=2&activity_keyword=woodchucks&viewMode=list).

“Let’s take an adventure this summer…a Woodchuck adventure!” according to the camp announcement.

Both camps are structured to help campers build friendships and enjoy their summer in a safe environment.
