Dr. Robert Machak, together with the Woodland Community Consolidated School District 50 Board of Education, has announced the formation of a new Parent-Teacher Advisory Committee. The committee is seeking participation from parents, teachers, and community members to provide input on key areas affecting school and district culture.

The advisory group will meet quarterly starting in the second quarter of the 2023-24 school year. Its responsibilities include making recommendations to the Board of Education on topics such as student behavior policies, administration of medication at school, reciprocal reporting between the district and local law enforcement agencies, student discipline and misconduct, school bus safety procedures, and use of behavioral interventions.

Meetings are scheduled to take place in the Oak Room at the Educational Support Center from 6 to 7 p.m. on November 6, February 12, and May 20. Organizers hope that participants will represent each of Woodland’s four schools—Woodland Elementary School, Woodland Intermediate School, Woodland Middle School, and Woodland Primary School—and reflect the district’s diverse student population. More information about these schools can be found at https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/.

Those interested in joining are encouraged to contact Yuliana Yucus by email at yyucus@dist50.net or by phone at (847) 596-5601.
