Grand Ridge Fire Department responded to 45 calls in 2017 - 32.4 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Grand Ridge included 36 fires - 19 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 14 other fires.

In all, the department saw $1,637,500 in fire loss - or about $45,486 per fire.

The department also received nine false calls, including one malicious call and eight other false calls.
