City of Highwood Committee of the Whole met May 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee: 

CALL TO ORDER by Mayor Pecaro at 6:07 P.M.

1. Roll Call 

Present: Aldermen Levi, Slavin (6:10 P.M.) Fiore, Peterson and Hospodarsky Absent: Alderman Falberg

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Jablecki, Assistant City Manager Martin and Administrative Assistant Litjens

2. Public Hearing 

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved 

3.1. City Council: May 02, 2023

3.2. Committee of the Whole: May 02, 2023

Minutes will be approved as presented at the regular City Council meeting.

4. Appointments 

5. Review of Bill Warrant List 

5.1. 05/16/2023 AP Warrant List

The Warrant List will be approved for payment at the regular City Council meeting. 6. Unfinished Business 

7. New Business 

7.1 Consideration of a Resolution Approving an ARC Application for an Outdoor Seating Area to Include Three Gazebos and Nine Planters for Isaac & Moishe, Located at 311 Waukegan Avenue.

This will be approved at the regular City Council meeting.

7.2 Consideration of an Ordinance Amending 4-1-7: Classification of Licenses in the Highwood City Code to Create an Additional Class A Liquor License.

This will be approved at the regular City Council meeting.

7.3 Consideration of a Motion Directing the City Manager to Sign a Reimbursement Agreement with Pablo Astudillo for Sewer Work at 433 Funston Avenue.

This will be approved at the regular City Council meeting.

7.4 A Discussion on Strategic Planning and Project Prioritization.

Council and Staff discussed initiatives and projects. Council had Staff remove item #2 Capital Projects and replace with working with the Library on potential restructuring and governance items.

Council had Staff remove the Metra Express Stop entirely.

Alderman Hospodarsky requested the dedication of the Western Avenue Ball Park as Baker Park gain priority.

8. Executive Session (If Necessary)

9. Any Action Necessary Coming Out of Executive Session 

10. Adjournment moved by Alderman Fiore and seconded by Alderman Levi. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:35 P.M.
