A section of Park Street in downtown Mundelein, spanning one block, will remain closed until October to facilitate outdoor dining, the Farmers Market, entertainment activities, the Park on Park Car Show, and other community events.

The closure of Park Street commenced on April 26 and extends from Route 45 to one block east up to the alley, as stated in a press release by the Village of Mundelein. The seasonal closure aims to bolster local businesses and enhance the sense of community in the burgeoning downtown area.

According to another press release by the Village of Mundelein, food from any restaurant can be enjoyed at 22 East Park - an open space intended for community leisure. Visitors are urged to dispose of their trash responsibly in designated bins and ensure proper disposal of cigarette butts.

The fire pit at the park is controlled by a timer and is pre-set by Mundelein Public Works and Engineering, says another release from the Village of Mundelein. Restaurant staff members do not have authority over adjusting its operational times. An emergency shut-off switch is conveniently located at the north end of the park. Additionally, string lighting is regulated by photocells and cannot be manually switched on or off upon request. This includes the light pole situated in the center of the park.

Lastly, a press release from the Village of Mundelein indicates that 'No Parking', 'Stopping' or 'Standing' signs will be displayed near Lake Street's crosswalk at the west end of Park Street's closure. Food order pickups are prohibited within this area.
