City of Highwood City Council met Feb. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER

1. Roll Call

Present: Aldermen Slavin, Falberg, Peterson, Hospodarsky, Levi and Fiore

Absent: None

Also Present: City Manager Coren, Assistant to the City Manager Facchini, and Management Analyst Byrne

2. Pledge of Allegiance

All present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Motion made by Alderman Fiore and seconded by Alderman Levi to approve the minutes for City Council: January 02, 2024. All present voting aye, by voice vote and the motion carried.

3.2. Motion made by Alderman Hospodarsky and seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the minutes for Committee of the Whole: January 02, 2024. All present voting aye, by voice vote and the motion carried.

4. Appointments

4.1. Motion made by Alderman Falberg and seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to appoint Marc Facchini, Assistant to the City Manager as – SWALCO Alternate Director.

5. Approval of Warrant List:

5.1. Moved by Alderman Peterson and seconded by Alderman Levy to approve the 01/16/2024 AP Warrant List. All present voting aye, by roll call vote and the motion carried.

5.2. Moved by Alderman Peterson and seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to approve the 02/06/2024 AP Warrant List. All present voting aye, by roll call vote and the motion carried.

12. New Business

12.1. Motion made by Alderman Peterson and seconded by Alderman Slavin to approve an Ordinance Amending 4-1-7: Classification of Licenses in the Highwood City Code to Eliminate a Class A Liquor License and Add a Class C Liquor License to Allow Buffo’s to Change Their Liquor License Designation. All present voting aye by voice vote and the motion carried.

12.2. Motion made by Alderman Falberg and seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve a Resolution Appointing the Assistant to the City Manager as the Alternate Director to the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County. All present voting aye by voice vote and motion carried.

12.3. Motion made by Alderman Hospodarsky and seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the City Manager to Execute an Agreement with Christopher Burke Engineering to Provide Construction Oversight Services for the 2024 Capital Projects in an Amount not to Exceed $171,000. All present voting aye, by roll call vote, motion carried.

Motion made by Alderman Fiore and seconded by Alderman Slavin to adjourn the meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:47 PM.
