The Village of Deerfield is offering a speedy new permitting process for ash tree removal, the village said on Wednesday.
The new process, which only applies to ash-tree removal, asks residents to submit photos of the base and leaves of the tree in question, along with the permit application. No permit fee is required for ash tree removal.
Village officials expect the new permits to be processed in one to two days, instead of the current processing time of a week or longer.
Applications can be submitted to the Public Works and Engineering Department at 465 Elm Street or to the Community Development Department office in the Village Hall.
