The village of Wadsworth board of trustees held its regular meeting on Nov. 3 at Village Hall.
The village approved a budget of $6,000 to replace flooring in the front Village Hall stairwell foyer. Village Administrator Moses Amidei, who was absent, was tasked with finding an appropriate surface for the project after the trustees said the tile samples he brought looked too slippery for winter weather.
The trustees agreed to delay their decision on a proposal to bring the village into compliance with new stormwater measuring requirements after Trustee Ken Harvey suggested the state was forcing communities to pay more during a time when it already has difficulty ironing out a budget for the service levels it maintains. The $500 increase would raise the overall cost of the project to $8,530.
Trustee Geralyn Hansen announced that the first public winter event would be a bonfire in Wadsworth Park in January, using the village's discarded Christmas trees. The village will also host an ice or snow sculpting event in the park later in the winter.
Trustee James Zegar proclaimed this year's Farmers Market season a success, citing 16 registered vendors.
The next meeting of the Wadsworth Trustees is scheduled for Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at Village Hall.
