Lake County Workforce invites all area employment seekers to its Workforce Development Workshop from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on March 2 at the Bittersweet Golf Course at 875 Almond Road in Gurnee.
The event, sponsored by the village of Gurnee Chamber of Commerce, will feature speaker Demar Harris who will describe the programs offered by the Lake County Workforce, such as on-the-job training (OJT) and Work-Experience, a customized program for individuals new to or unconnected to the work force.
Work performed by employees in these programs is paid, with employers partly reimbursed by the organization and assisted with skill assessments and individualized training.
Lake County Workforce strives to connect jobseekers with training and placement for employment, while providing businesses with proven labor market solutions, such as job fairs, pre-screening, market information, outplacement assistance and grants designed to support OJT.
Wide-ranging services consist of recruitment, placement, employee and workforce training programs, management topics, information services and potential resources for networking and funding.
Job hunters are encouraged to attend this event.
Since registration is limited, the Chamber of Commerce suggests that participants sign up early to reserve a seat.
Breakfast bagels, muffins, fruit, juices and coffee will be provided.
