Lindenhurst beckons public to roadwork information session Feb. 29

Lindenhurst1

The public is invited to the village of Lindenhurst’s meeting to discuss a road improvement project from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 29 at Lindenhurst Village Hall, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road.

The open house-style public information meeting will offer residents information on final project plans and present a construction timeline for the Beck Road upgrade.

The proposed road improvements are divided into two types of work: repair/rehabilitation between Sand Lake Road and Springhill Lane, and reconstruction between Springhill Lane and Grass Lake Road.

In both areas, curbs and sidewalks will be removed and replaced, and minor storm sewer improvements will be made with additional attention to asphalt repair, soil stabilization and under drain piping.

To make the project feasible, the village obtained federal funding with the help of Lake County’s Department of Transportation to offset construction costs associated with this project. Beck Road is considered a Federal-Urban Aid road, which qualifies for surface transportation program funds. These funds are only used for the construction portion of this project.

The meeting will be held in the boardroom. Residents are welcome to attend on a drop-in basis anytime during the scheduled two-hour window. Maps and exhibits will be available for viewing at the public meeting.
