To select an award recipient and hear from community liaisons, a special meeting of the city of Highland Park’s Human Relations Commission is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 10 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Ave.
The "Highland Park Humanitarian" award recognizes individuals who have rendered outstanding service to the Highland Park community independent of the paid work in the areas of education, charitable work, philanthropy, environmental advocacy or public policy as well as serving senior citizens, youth, the disabled and the underprivileged.
Any person with a record of sustained giving who has made a significant contribution to changing lives in the Highland Park Community is eligible for nomination.
