Lindenhurst v hall sign green

To review infrastructure and engineering supports, well water concerns and welcome new staff, the Lindenhurst village board met 7 p.m. Feb. 22 at 2301 East Sand Lake Road for its regular meeting.

Following approval of minutes from the board’s regular meeting Feb. 8, bills presented for payment and reports from board and staff members, a new clerk was sworn in.

Two resolutions and authorizations took center stage for the meeting. One resolution regarded a plat of vacation of a utility easement, while another resolution sanctioned funds and approved the local public agency agreement for federal participation on a project involving Beck Road.

The two authorizations both concerned engineering services agreements for Lindenhurst. One agreement pertained to the Beck Road matter in the amount of $450,881; the second consisted of a contract with a construction coordinator for $147,000.

A budget amendment for well repair was discussed, with a price tag of $18,976, and the water connection fee for private wells was reviewed.

A public participation session was offered for citizens to speak on any topics not covered in the agenda. The board went into executive session prior to adjournment.
