The Lake Bluff Historic Preservation Commission considered a request for historic status and proposed exterior building alterations for two different village structures at a recent meeting.

The commission held a public hearing to consider a landmark-status application for 1010 Green Bay Road and held a review conference to consider proposed changes to the building’s exterior.

Time was given for public input on non-agenda items, including visitors’ questions and comments. Individuals were allowed up to three minutes each  for queries and remarks concerning topics of relevance to the commission not already included in the evening’s agenda.

The commission meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 40 E. Center Avenue. As well as overseeing policies on preservation, protection and maintenance of the village’s historic sites and landscapes, the commission educates residents on the value of historic preservation. It reviews demolition applications, recommends landmark designation, holds conferences and issues status certificates as appropriate.
