The Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals heard and considered several variance requests by a homeowner who wants to attach a garage to his home, during a meeting this week.
The Zoning Board of Appeals holds public hearings to consider applications for rezoning, conditional-use permits, requests for variances and administrative appeals. The board makes recommendations to the County Board concerning the aforementioned issues. Public hearings over such applications are generally held in the mornings of the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.

#7861 On the petition of Kyle DeBord, record owner of the subject property located at
33612 N Gages Lake Dr., Grayslake, Illinois, that is approximately 0.14 acres., who
seeks the following variances from the requirements of the Lake County Code and any
other zoning relief as required:1) Reduce the required front street yard setback from 25
feet to 11.26 feet to construct an attached garage; Reduce the required side yard
setback from 4 feet to 0.42 feet to accommodate an existing single family home and
proposed attached garage. The building wall would be no closer than 2 feet from the
property line, and the eave and gutter would be no closer than 0.42 feet.
