The Warren Special Recreation Association (WSRA) will participate in Track Friday by having open track time from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at Warren Township High School in Gurnee, according to the Gurnee Park District's Facebook page.

The event, set for the Friday after Thanksgiving, is a fundraiser for WSRA programs, according to the fundraiser website: http://bit.ly/2dEvrLa. The WRSA has more than 400 recreation programs and serves more than 200 people. Programs include music, arts, after-school and adult day recreation, swimming, summer day camps, Special Olympics, day trips and social clubs.

Participants can raise any amount they want, and run or walk whatever distance they want, according to TrackFriday.org. Track Friday began in 2012 and has raised more than $100,000 for more than 80 charities by holding recreation-focused fundraising events at local tracks and parks.
