City of Highwood City Council met March 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Call to Order by Mayor Pecaro at 7:30 P.M.

1. Roll Call 

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Falberg, Feddermann, Peterson, Slavin 

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Fiore 

Also Present: City Manager Coren, Assistant to City Manager Marquez, City Attorney Jablecki, Deputy City Clerk Baruffi

2. Pledge of Allegiance 

Those in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Slavin to approve the City Council: March 07, 2017 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. 

3.2. Committee of the Whole: March 07 , 2017

4. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro) Appointment will be voted on at the next meeting.

5. Approval of Warrant List:

5.1. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Feddermann to approve the 03/21/2017 AP Warrant List as presented. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Fiore

9.1. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the treasurer’s report of January 2017 presented at the Committee of the Whole meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

12.1. 17-R-9 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Feddermann to authorize A Resolution Approving an ARC Application for Signage (448 Sheridan Rd – Traycee Home Care). With the inclusion or exclusion of the word ‘A’ prior to legacy of care and service since 1974. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

12.2. 17-O-7 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to waive the first reading and approve An Ordinance Amending 10-2C: ‘Rental Property Safety’ to Expand the Waiver Process to Effectively Utilize Time and Resources and Reward Compliant Landlords and Clarify Several Definitions. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Fiore

12.3. 17-R-10 Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Feddermann to authorize A Resolution Approving the Release of Certain Executive Session Minutes of the City Council of the City of Highwood. All present voting aye, by voice mail, motion carried.

This Resolution is required by the open meetings act.

12.4. 17-R-11 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Slavin to authorize A Resolution Accepting a Bid from Morton Salt Inc., and Authorizing the City Manager to Purchase up to 1,200 Tons of Salt for the 2017-2018 Winter Season. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Fiore

12.5. Moved by Alderman Feddermann, seconded by Alderman Falberg to authorize a Motion to Direct the City Manager to Accept a Contract from Schroeder & Schroeder to Replace all Concrete Sidewalks in Highwood with a Rating Warranting Reconstruction, in an Amount not to Exceed $40,904.14, Upon City Attorney Approval. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Fiore

13. Any Action Necessary Coming Out of Executive Session

14. Adjournment Moved by Alderman Slavin, seconded by Alderman Peterson to adjourn the meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:37 p.m.
