Camping might never be easier or more fun than what the Vernon Hills Park District is offering June 24-25.
The district is hosting a "Family Campout" at the city's aquatic center that will include swimming, a campfire, a movie, a pancake breakfast and, of course, s'mores.
Camping begins at 5:30 p.m. on June 24 and ends at 9 a.m. the next day. Participants should bring camping gear, including tents, sleeping bags and flashlights.
The Family Aquatic Center features a 700-foot lazy river, water slides, an enclosed body flume, a sand play area, a zero-depth leisure pool and waterfalls.
The cost is $45 per campsite, with a limit of six people per site. To register in person, go to the Sullivan Center at 635 Aspen Drive.
