Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Volo was called to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Volo Village Hall, Mayor Stephen Henley presiding.

Roll Call: Trustees Wagner, Porter, Buschick, Johnson, Heuser, Buttita – present; Village Clerk Rydberg – present.

Also present were various staff members.

Public Comment – Agenda Items: None.

Approval of Minutes: Regular Meeting of March 21, 2017

Public Hearing of March 21, 2017

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 21, 2017 and the Minutes of the Public Hearing of March 21, 2017. On voice vote – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Approval: Accounts Payable – April 4, 2017 & April 18, 2017

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Buschick, to authorize payment of the bills as listed in the Treasurer’s Reports for April 4, 2017 and April 18, 2017. Roll Call: Trustees Wagner, Porter, Buschick, Johnson, Heuser, Buttita – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Proclamation: Arbor Day

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Wagner, to proclaim April 28, 2017 as Arbor Day in the Village of Volo. On voice vote – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Resolution No. R-17-224: MFT Maintenance Resolution

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to approve Resolution No. R-17- 224, outlining the estimated costs of right-of-way maintenance activities for FY 17/18. Roll Call: Trustees Porter, Buschick, Johnson, Heuser, Buttita, Wagner – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Acceptance of Bids / Authorization to Execute: Water Tower Painting (L & T Painting)

Trustee Johnson made a motion, seconded by Trustee Buttita, to accept the bids and authorize execution of a contract for the painting of the north water tower with L & T Painting. Roll Call: Trustees Buschick, Johnson, Heuser, Buttita, Wagner, Porter – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Waiver of Bids / Authorization to Execute: Cathodic Protection (Corrpro)

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Wagner, to waive the formal bid process and authorize execution of a contract for the installation of a cathodic protection system in the north water tower with Corrpro. Roll Call: Trustees Johnson, Heuser, Buttita, Wagner, Porter, Buschick – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Acceptance of Bids / Authorization to Execute: Village Hall Landscaping (Landscape Concepts)

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to accept the bids and authorize execution of a contract for Village Hall landscaping with Landscape Concepts. Roll Call: Trustees Heuser, Buttita, Wagner, Porter, Buschick, Johnson – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Acceptance of Bids / Authorization to Execute: Parkway Tree Planting (Alaniz Group)

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Johnson, to accept the bids and authorize execution of a contract for parkway tree planting with Alaniz Group. Roll Call: Trustees Buttita, Wagner, Porter, Buschick, Johnson, Heuser – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Acceptance of Bids / Authorization to Execute: Curb & Sidewalk Repair (Schroeder & Schroeder)

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to accept the bids and authorize execution of a contract for curb and sidewalk repair with Schroeder & Schroeder. Roll Call: Trustees Wagner, Porter, Buschick, Johnson, Heuser, Buttita – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Public Comment: None.

Trustee Reports: Trustee Wagner noted the next Economic Development Committee meeting will be Friday, April 28th at 9:00 a.m. Trustee Porter invited the Trustees to attend a multi-chamber networking event on Wednesday, April 19th.

Mayor’s Report: Mayor Henley noted that he attended ICSC’s Central Illinois Luncheon and shared information from the panel discussion on siting medical offices.

There being no further business, Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to adjourn the meeting. On voice vote – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:21 p.m.
