Village of Volo Board of Trustees met January 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Volo was called to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Volo Village Hall, Mayor Stephen Henley presiding.

Roll Call: Trustees Wagner, Porter, Johnson, Heuser, Northam – present; Trustee Buttita – absent. Village Clerk Rydberg – present.

Also present were various staff members.

Public Comment – Agenda Items: An owner of a unit in the Volo Commerce Center voiced his support for the proposed expansion of Northern Illinois Funeral Services.

Approval Of Minutes: Regular Meeting Of December 5, 2017

Public Hearing Of December 5, 2017

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Wagner, to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 5, 2017 and the Minutes of the Public Hearing of December 5, 2017. On voice vote – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Approval: Accounts Payable – December 19, 2017; January 2, 2018 & January 16, 2018

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Northam, to authorize payment of the bills as listed in the Treasurer’s Reports for December 19, 2017; January 2, 2018; and January 16, 2018. Roll Call: Trustees Wagner, Porter, Johnson, Heuser, Northam – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Ordinance No. O-18-01: Adopting A Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Northam, to approve Ordinance No. O-18-01, adopting a policy prohibiting sexual harassment. Roll Call: Trustees Porter, Johnson, Heuser, Northam, Wagner – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Ordinance No. O-18-02: Approving Amendments To The Planned Unit Development Approvals And Unit 2b Final Plat For The Remington Pointe North Subdivision

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Northam, to approve Ordinance No. O-18-02, amending the PUD and Unit 2B Final Plat for Remington Pointe North. Roll Call: Trustees Johnson, Heuser, Northam, Wagner, Porter – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Ordinance No. O-18-03: Amending A Special Use Permit For A Mortician Facility And Crematorium (31632 N. Ellis Drive, Unit 208 And Unit 209)

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Johnson, to approve Ordinance No. O-18-03, amending Ordinance No. O-13-503 regarding a special use permit for Northern Illinois Funeral Services Inc. at 31632 N. Ellis Drive, Unit 208 and Unit 209. Roll Call: Trustees Heuser, Northam, Wagner, Porter, Johnson – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Authorization To Execute: Water Main Easements (CLCJAWA)

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to grant two (2) non-exclusive permanent water main easements to Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency. Roll Call: Trustees Northam, Wagner, Porter, Johnson, Heuser – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

Public Comment: None.

Trustee Reports: Trustee Wagner provided a brief update on recent activities of the Economic Development Committee.

Mayor’s Report: Mayor Henley announced that he was recently appointed to serve on the Lake County Housing and Community Development Commission.

There being no further business, Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to adjourn the meeting. On voice vote – all “aye”. Motion Carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
