Analysis: Long Grove pays $2.48 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Long Grove Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 71.1 percent of the $454,832 the Long Grove Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.48 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Long Grove contributed $323,468 to the fund, which saw a $26,129 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $129,913, or 28.6 percent, in 2016. Another $1,451 came from other unspecified sources.
