Analysis: Mundelein pays $2.53 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mundelein Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 71.7 percent of the $812,669 the Mundelein Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.53 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mundelein contributed $582,571 to the fund, which saw a $77,093 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $229,938, or 28.3 percent, in 2016. Another $160 came from other unspecified sources.
