Analysis: North Chicago pays $2.93 for every $1 pensioners contribute to North Chicago Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.6 percent of the $940,793 the North Chicago Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.93 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, North Chicago contributed $702,086 to the fund, which saw a $106,897 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $238,849, or 25.4 percent, in 2016.
