Analysis: North Chicago pays $2.35 for every $1 pensioners contribute to North Chicago Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 70.7 percent of the $1,584,286 the North Chicago Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.35 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, North Chicago contributed $1,119,364 to the fund, which saw a $265,926 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $474,366, or 29.9 percent, in 2016.
