Analysis: Vernon Hills pays $3.62 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Vernon Hills Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.4 percent of the $1,966,568 the Vernon Hills Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.62 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Vernon Hills contributed $1,541,722 to the fund, which saw a $108,822 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $424,846, or 21.6 percent, in 2016.
