Analysis: Winthrop Harbor pays $2.10 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Winthrop Harbor Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 68.4 percent of the $185,973 the Winthrop Harbor Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.10 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Winthrop Harbor contributed $127,277 to the fund, which saw a $158,835 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $60,456, or 32.5 percent, in 2016.
