LINDENHURST POLICE DEPARTMENT: Employment Opportunities - Police Department - Full-Time Lateral Transfer and Part-Time Position

Lindenhurst Police Department issued the following announcement on May 4.

The Lindenhurst Police Department is seeking qualified lateral transfer candidates for the position of full-time police officer.

Candidates must have been employed, whether currently or in the past, for at least two (2) years as a full time, non-probationary sworn law enforcement officer by a Federal, State, County or local law enforcement Agency.

Candidate must be in good standing with current agency.

Candidates must possess certificate through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board as a certified law enforcement officer. Candidates must agree to comply with all requirements of the position and have the ability to pass all examinations and training requirements. Must be able to furnish upon request, a copy of the following: training certificates, documents confirming work experience, birth certificate, diplomas, transcripts, and any other employment related materials as requested.

 Current starting Full-Time Salary: $67,685

Part-Time Officers

 May work a variety of shifts, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

 Uniform allowance, Deferred Compensation

 Specialized Assignment Opportunities Available

 Current starting Part-Time Salary $28.53 - $38.53

The Village of Lindenhurst has a population of approximately 15,000. The Police Department consists of 15 sworn Police Officers, 6 part-time Police Officers, 1 part-time Community Service Officer, and a Records Administrator.

HIRING PROCESS: Selected candidates must successfully pass a background investigation, oral interview, medical, psychological and polygraph examinations.
