Report: Oak Grove spent $16,738 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Oak Grove School District 68 is up 16 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $14,478 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $16,738 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 834 to 889.

Oak Grove's spending in 2016-17 was 29 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
