Winthrop Harbor Volunteer Fire Department responded to 122 calls in 2017 - 0.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Winthrop Harbor included 61 fires - 43 structure fires, four vehicle fires and 14 other fires.

In all, the department saw $35,150 in fire loss - or about $576 per fire.

The department also received 61 false calls, including eight malicious calls and 53 other false calls.

The Winthrop Harbor Volunteer Fire Department had an annual budget of $59,424 in 2017.
