City of Highwood City Council met June 19. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

Call to Order by Mayor Pecaro at 7:46 p.m.


1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Grice, Falberg, Hospodarsky, Peterson

Absent: Aldermen: Slavin, Fiore

Also Present: City Manager Coren, Attorney Rhodes, Administrative Clerk Litjens, City Clerk Baruffi

2. Pledge of Allegiance

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

    3.1. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the CityCouncil: June 05, 2018 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

    3.2. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the Committee of the Whole: June 05, 2018 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

4. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro)

5. Approval of Warrant List:

     5.1. Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson, to approve the 06/19/2018 AP Warrant List for payment. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Aldermen: Fiore, Slavin

      12.1. 18-R-15 Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Resolution Regarding Approval of a “Bumpout” Portable Deck, Closure or Two On-Street Parking Spaces and Outdoor Seating on Deck and Sidewalk for Creation of a Sidewalk Café at Clucker’s Restaurant. (405 Sheridan Road). All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

      12.2. 18-R-16 Moved by Alderman Falberg, Seconded by Alderman Grice to authorize a Resolution Regarding Approval of Outdoor Seating Arrangement for a Sidewalk Café at Sandy’s Restaurant (415 Sheridan Road). All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

     12.3. 18-R-17 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Resolution Regarding Approval of a Wall Sign for Raden Wellness Health Center (200 Green Bay Road ). All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

     12.4. 18-R-18 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to authorize a Resolution Approving the Façade, Fencing and Landscaping Plans for the Hotel Moraine with Certain Conditions While Rejecting Signage and Lighting Modifications. All present voting aye, but voice vote, motion carried.

     12.5. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Falberg to approve a Motion Directing Staff to Proceed to Bidding for the Euclid Avenue and Euclid Court Reconstruction Project. All present aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

     12.6. 18-O-11 Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson to waive the first vote and approve an Ordinance Adopting the Prevailing Wage Rates for Laborers, Workers and Mechanics Employed in the City of Highwood. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Yes: Aldermen Falberg, Peterson, Hospodarsky, Grice

Absent: Aldermen: Slavin, Fiore

13. Executive Session (If Necessary)

Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Peterson to go into Executive Session to discuss 2C1. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Vote:

Yes: Hospodarsky, Peterson, Grice, Falberg

Absent: Aldermen: Fiore, Slavin

Mayor Pecaro called to go into Executive Session at 7:54 p.m.

Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Peterson to end Executive Session. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro ended the Executive Session at 8:37 p.m.

14. Any Action Necessary Coming Out of Executive Session will be sealed until no longer sensitive.

Moved by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to reconvene. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro reconvened the meeting at 8:37 p.m.

15. Adjournment

Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Grice to adjourn the meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 8:37 p.m.
