Madigan spends $67K in July to boost Gurnee Democrat State House hopeful Mason

Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chairman Michael J. Madigan (D-Chicago) has reported $67,312 in July contributions to Joyce Mason, a Democrat running for the Illinois State House of Representatives against incumbent Rep. Sheri Jesiel (R-Winthrop Harbor).

The total reflects payments made through July 22.

Payments in support of the campaign included one totaling $27,000 on July 10 for polling. Two more, for $21,660 on July 15 and $18,653 on July 22, were to a printer in Philadelphia, as reported by the Illinois Democratic Party to the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE).

Mason raised $20,220 in the second quarter from non-Madigan contributors, according to her June 30 ISBE filing.
