Antioch Community Consolidated School District 34 recently issued the following announcement.
Greetings Antioch School District 34 Employees,
I hope you are enjoying a restful and relaxing summer. Our Master Facility Plan (MFP) is in full swing at AES, W.C. Petty and Oakland! Visit our MFP photo gallery on our website to see our progress. In addition, our crews have been hard at work preparing our facilities for another school year. You will receive communication from your building principal regarding the timeline for entry to the building to begin setting up your classroom. Please note that there will be variations in the timeline given the construction at certain schools.
To kick off the new school year, I'll be addressing all employees on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Hillcrest starting at 8:20 am sharp. Please plan to arrive at Hillcrest by 8:15 am. An optional Breakfast Mingle will be available starting at 7:45 am.
If you don't typically work on this day per your work calendar, attendance is optional. Non-certified employees that attend need to clock in and will be paid their hourly rate. If you are unsure about attendance on August 30th or August 31st, please contact your direct supervisor.
As we did last year, we invite all employees to send photos from your summer ventures as we will have a slide show running during the breakfast mingle. Just attach photos (unedited, high quality) with captions in the body of the email message summerphotos@antioch34.com. We need to receive your photos by Friday, August 24th in order to include them in the slide show.
I look forward to speaking with you about how all employees will continue to be involved in our mission of "inspiring personal excellence" and continuous improvement through teamwork, collaboration and shared leadership in the coming year. In addition, we will provide updates to this year's key initiatives including: Master Facility Plan (MFP), Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), the D34 Technology Plan and our 1:1 initiative and next steps in our use of data.
Thank you for your dedication to our students, families, and District 34. It is evident your continuous improvement efforts are making a difference. I am honored and humbled to serve as your superintendent in the Antioch School District 34 Community.
