Lake Villa Community Consolidated School District 41 reported 109 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 109 students during the year. That equates to 4.1 percent of the 2,633 students enrolled.

Of the 55 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 37 incidents. There were 15 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 35 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 54 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 23 incidents. There were 11 incidents of drugs. For 17 incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
