Lake County Farm Bureau recently endorsed Republican House candidate Ken Idstein for Illinois House of Representatives.
Gregory G. Koeppen, executive director of the organization, recently sent out a mailer to the organization’s 12,000 members informing them of the group’s decision to throw their support behind Idstein, running in the 62nd District against Rep. Sam Yingling (D-Grayslake).
In the mailer, Koeppen thanked Idstein for recently meeting with the group’s legislative committee and board of directors and for “supporting agriculture in Lake County.”

Koeppen added “we wish you continued success as you work toward a victory on Nov. 6."
Idstein has based his campaign on a platform of fiscal responsibility and property tax reform. He has also vowed not to take a state pension if elected.
“I am running for state representative to serve you and eliminate out-of-control spending by our state legislature, consolidate duplicative units of government and find new solutions to fund schools in order to reduce our growing property taxes,” he said in a recent press release. “It’s all part of [my] commitment to being a ‘citizen legislator.’”
The 62nd House District includes Avon, Fremont, Grant, Lake Villa, Warren and Wauconda.
