Star forward Molly Schoenlein has been named Lake Forest College Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 3.
The 6"junior forward registered a season-high 17 points to go with 14 rebounds and four blocks in leading the Lady Forresters over Beloit College 75-66 on Jan. 2 in a Midwest Conference tilt, according to the school's website.
Shooting 7-of-11 on the night, Schoenlin scored 11 points and grabbed seven boards during a critical fourth- quarter stretch where Lake Forest erased a seven-point deficit. The double-double was the fifth of her career for Schoenlein, who now leads the conference in block shots this season with 17.
Lake Forest has now won four of its first five in the Midwest Conference and is 6-7 in the year overall. The Lady Forresters meet Beloit in a road rematch Feb. 2
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the school's athletic department on Thursdays of each week.
