Report: Vernon Hills spent $23,079 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Vernon Hills Community High School District 128 is up 13.9 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $20,271 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $23,079 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 3345 to 3397.

Vernon Hills's spending in 2017-18 was 73 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
