VILLAGE OF LAKE BLUFF: Now Hiring: Maintenance Worker

Village of Lake Bluff recently issued the following announcement. 

The Village of Lake Bluff, IL (pop: 5,722), a Chicago suburban community where its small size, unpretentious charm, and easygoing spirit sets it apart from the rest of the North Shore, seeks a qualified, hardworking individual to serve as its next Maintenance Worker. The position’s duties involve maintenance of water distribution systems, sanitary and storm sewers, streets and sidewalks, street lighting, forestry, snow removal, and buildings and grounds. The position is represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150. After hours work is required for snow removal and rotating on-call emergency duty.

Requirements: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years of relevant experience preferred. Must possess a valid CDL or have the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire. Current certification as an Illinois Class D Drinking Water Operator preferred.

Salary & Benefits: Range is $50,003 to $63,357. The Village offers competitive benefits including: health, vision and dental benefits for the employee; 12 sick days/year; 10 vacation days/year; 11 holiday and personal days/year; Village paid life insurance policy; participation in IMRF; and an available ICMA-RC 457 plan.
