Warren Township Village Board met May 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

PRESENT:

Suzanne Simpson Supervisor

Bill Gill Town Trustee

Mike Semmerling Town Trustee

Donna Radke Town Trustee

Ken Echtenacher Town Trustee

George Iler Town Clerk

Also Present: Highway Commissioner Amy Sarver, Business Services Diane Sarver and real estate broker Robert Krombach.

Call to Order. 

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Supervisor Simpson.

Pledge of Allegiance. 

Supervisor Simpson led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call. 

Present: Suzanne Simpson, Supervisor, Bill Gill, Trustee, Mike Semmerling, Trustee, Donna Radke, Trustee; and Ken Echtenacher, Trustee.

Motion to Approve the Agenda. Trustee Semmerling motioned, seconded by Trustee Echtenacher approve the agenda. The motion was approved unanimously by a voice vote.

Board Minutes of April 22, 2019. Trustee Gill motioned, seconded by Trustee Echtenacher to approve the Board minutes of March 9, 2019. The motion was approved unanimously by a voice vote.

Public Comment. 

None

Unfinished Business. 

None

Supervisor's Report: Supervisor Simpson informed the Board that the Housing Authority has withdrawn its bid for the Sunset & Delaney property. They wanted an extension which was not acceptable. Bob Krombach indicated his interest in reopening the bidding. He made a presentation to the Board indicating he thought the property would bring a higher offer than the current amount. Supervisor Simpson suggested the Board consider his proposal and make a formal decision next meeting on Tuesday, May 28. Trustee Gill reported on a Marijuana informational meeting held last week. Participants heard presentations regarding the cons of legalizing. The Illinois governor is pushing for legalization of recreational marijuana.

Treasurer's Report. The Treasurers Report was presented. Trustee Radke motioned, seconded by Trustee Echtenacher to accept as presented. The motion was approved by unanimous roll call vote.

New Business:

A. Pay the Bills. Trustee Echtenacher motioned, seconded by Trustee Gill to pay the bills as presented. The motion was approved by unanimous roll call vote.

B. Park Bans. Supervisor Simpson recommended that a Teen Center member be banned from the Center for a period of three months and appear before the Board for reinstatement for his misbehavior. The subject student is currently undergoing counseling and appears to be making progress. Trustee Semmerling motioned, seconded by Trustee Gill to accept Supervisor Simpsons recommendation. The motion was approved by unanimous roll call vote.

C. Contract Approvals A letter of Agreement was approved for Eileen Estrem to provide Meditation Classes. It was approved by unanimous roll call vote.

Resolutions

a. Garbage Contract 2019-R-13 Supervisor Simpson and Administrator Johnson presented the latest Waste Management proposal. After discussion, the Board agreed and the proposal was approved by unanimous Board roll call vote.

b. Furniture 2019-R-14 The proposed furniture purchase was less than budgeted. Trustee Echtenacher motioned, seconded by Trustee Semmerling to accept the purchase price. Approved by unanimous roll call vote.

c. Fitness Equipment 2019-R-12 Resolution to purchase equipment adopted by unanimous roll call vote.

There being no further business, Trustee Gill motioned, seconded by Supervisor Simpson to adjourn the meeting at 6:05 p.m. The motion was app
