There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole near Illinois zip code 60085 during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Lake County Gazette.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in 60085 were men. The younger parolee was a 61-year-old man sentenced in 1990. The other was a 67-year-old man sentenced in 1980.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Carl Michaels. He was convicted of homicide in 1980 when he was 29 years old. He is now 67.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
