Illinois State House District 61 issued the following announcement on July 26
Today I hosted a tour of our district’s northern coastal communities. The group included leadership and experts from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Mayors and economic development folks from Winthrop Harbor, Beach Park and Zion, and State Senator Melinda Bush. We discussed a variety of projects and needs of the district including economic development, environmental protections, shoreline erosion, the decommissioned nuclear power plant, infrastructure needs to protect our drinking water, Illinois Beach State Park improvements, connected trails, and much more. We have a wonderful opportunity to accomplish great things by all working together! I so appreciate DNR Director Callahan and her team for taking the time to spend the day with us, and all of our local leadership for working so hard to better our community!
