Members in attendance: Mr. Dabrowski, Mrs. Kiesgen, Mr. Martin, Mr. Smith Sr., Mrs. Kelley

Members absent: Mrs. Bochniak

Administration present: Mrs. Friziellie, Mrs. Taylor, Mr. Sefcik, Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Udstuen

IV. Approval of the Agenda

A motion was made by Mr. Smith Sr., seconded by Mrs. Kiesgen, to approve the Agenda. Motion Carried.

V. Approval of Minutes from the August 13, 2019 Board of Education Meeting

A motion was made by Mr. Smith Sr., seconded by Mr. Martin, to approve the Minutes from the August 13, 2019 Board of Education Meeting. Motion Carried.

VI. Approval of Closed Session Minutes from August 13, 2019 Board of Education Meeting

A motion was made by Mrs. Kiesgen, seconded by Mr. Martin to approve the Closed Session Minutes from August 13, 2019 Board of Education Meeting. Motion Carried.

VII. Approval of the Minutes from the September 12, 2019 Special Board of Education Meeting

A motion was made by Mr. Smith Sr., seconded by Mr. Martin, to approve the Minutes from the September 12, 2019 Special Board of Education Meeting. Motion Carried.

VIII. Appoint New Member of the Board of Education

Mrs. Kiesgen nominated Brian Hutchinson to the Board of Education.

A motion was made by Mrs. Kiesgen, seconded by Mr. Smith Sr., to appoint Brian Hutchinson to the Board of Education. Motion Carried.

IX. Introductions, Correspondence and Audience Comments

X. Recognition of Donations

● Menards of Fox Lake

● Fox Lake Library

● Antioch Pizza Shop

Mrs. Friziellie acknowledged the generous donations of school supplies by Menards of Fox Lake and the Fox Lake Library. Mrs. Udstuen recognized the Antioch Pizza Shop for their generous donation of gift certificates for the Lotus Star Cart and a classroom pizza party.

XI. Conduct Public Hearing on 2019-20 Final Budget

Start Time: 7:20 p.m.

End Time: 7:24 p.m.

XII. Approval of 2019-20 Final Budget

A motion was made by Mr. Smith Sr., seconded by Mrs. Kiesgen, to approve the 2019-20 Final Budget. Motion Carried.

2. Treasurer’s Report--August 2019

A motion was made by Mr. Smith Sr., seconded by Mr. Martin, to approve the Consent Agenda, with Accounts Payable in the amount of $426,560.76. Motion Carried.

XIV. Room Dedication Request--Denise Kelley and Andy Martin, Robert D. Sayles Foundation Board Members

Mr. Dabrowski appointed a special committee to consider the room dedication request. This committee will make a recommendation, along with supporting rationale, to the Board at the October 15, 2019 Board of Education Meeting.

XV. Administrative Reports-Heather Friziellie and Mary Taylor

1. Bloom Where You’re Planted: The First Few Weeks of School 2019-20

Mr. Sefcik, Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Udstuen each presented team building activities which created the theme of the first few weeks of the 2019-20 school year.

2. Personnel Report

Mrs. Friziellie recommended the approval of the hiring of Kathryn Wicklander, Stanton SpEd Teacher, MA30-25.

A motion was made by Mr. Smith Sr., seconded by Mrs. Kiesgen, for the approval of the hiring of Kathryn Wicklander, Stanton SpEd Teacher, MA30-25. Motion Carried.

Mrs. Friziellie recommended the approval of revised policies 2:110, 2:140, 2:140 E, 2:230, 4:20, 5:180, 6:340.

A motion was made by Mr. Martin, seconded by Mrs. Kiesgen, to approve the revised policies 2:110, 2:140, 2:140 E, 2:230, 4:20, 5:180, 6:340. Motion Carried.

1. October 15, 2019 BOE Meeting will be held at Stanton at 6:50 p.m. to showcase the new sign and tour Exploratories.
