Antioch Community Consolidated School District 34 Board of Education met Dec. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

A Committee of the Whole Meeting of the Board of Education of Antioch School District 34 was held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Administrative Services Center, 964 Spafford Street, Antioch, Illinois, in said District. President Hulting called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Roll call showed those present were: Members C. Green, Baronello, Linck, Penn, P. Green and President Hulting. Absent: Member McMahon.

APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

The Board Recognition was removed from the agenda due to the student being recognized not being in attendance. Also, Closed Session was moved on the agenda to follow Public Participation. Member Penn moved and Member Baronello seconded the motion to approve the agenda, as amended. Voice Vote: Ayes - 6, Nays – none. Motion carried.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

 Brandy Crawford, Strings teacher for the district, addressed the board asking that the items given to the board earlier in the day be considered for approval.

CLOSED SESSION

Member Linck moved and Member Penn seconded the motion to enter closed session at 6:32 p.m. per

The Open Meetings Act to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. However, a meeting to consider an increase in compensation to a specific employee of a public body that is subject to the Local Government Wage Increase Transparency Act may not be closed and shall be open to the public and posted and held in accordance with this Act. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1).

Roll call vote: C. Green, P. Green, Linck, Baronello, Penn, Baronello, Hulting – Aye. Nays – none. Motion carried.

RECONVENE TO OPEN SESSION

The Board reconvened to open session at 8:35 p.m.

PRESENTATIONS

State Report Card Presentations & Illinois Assessment for Readiness Scores

Adam Sax and Kristina Guntharp presented information on the State Report Card Presentation & Illinois Assessment for Readiness Scores. This information can be viewed on the District website under 2019 December – Illinois Science Assessment 2019 Scores Follow-Up.

Forecast5 5-Year Projections

Cheryl Wadsworth presented information on the Forecast5 5-Year Projections. This information can be viewed on the District website under 2019 December – Forecast5 Five-Year Projection Scenario.

INFORMATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS

Illinois Science Assessment Analysis

Kristina Guntharp and Adam Sax presented information regarding the Illinois Science Assessment Analysis to the board which was a Future Agenda Item request from a former meeting.

A Child’s Place Daycare Discussion

Representatives from A Child’s Place Daycare presented information regarding their request for district transportation outside of the school boundary of their site. The board will have a follow-up conversation and provide a response to A Child’s Place at a later date.

Stipend Amounts Discussion

The board discussed the increase that has been requested from the Strings Department for instruction time before school.

o December 17th – light agenda so the board can review candidates

Member Penn moved and Member Linck seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:12 p.m. Voice vote: Ayes – 6, Nays – None. Motion carried.
