City of Lake Forest recently issued the following announcement.
What You Should Know about Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center issued a letter to municipalities on February 27, 2020 stating that "The current risk to Illinois residents remains low, with two confirmed cases. These individuals have recovered, and there are no known infectious Illinois residents at this time."
The City of Lake Forest (Office of the City Manager, Police and Fire Departments) continues to work closely with area partners to take steps to safeguard Lake Forest should the area be affected.

Residents can help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like COVID-19 by:
- Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
- Covering your coughs and sneezes with a tissue and then throwing the tissue in the trash
- Avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- Cleaning and disinfecting frequently-touched objects and surfaces
- Staying home when you are sick, except to get medical care
- Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
