Analysis: North Chicago pays $3.81 for every $1 pensioners contribute to North Chicago Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 79.2 percent of the $1,260,094 the North Chicago Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.81 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, North Chicago contributed $998,114 to the fund, which saw a $222,886 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $261,902, or 20.8 percent, in 2018. Another $78 came from other unspecified sources.
