ADLAI E STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 125: All-America Honors for Swimmers, Diver

Adlai E Stevenson High School District 125 issued the following announcement on July 7.

Several members of the boys and girls swimming and diving teams, plus one member of the boys water polo team, have earned 2020 All-America honors from the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association.

Boys Swimming and Diving All-Americans

The 200-yard medley relay team of AJ Carollo, Jack Zhang, Jake Kim and Josh Song (shown above), which finished fifth at the 2020 Illinois High School Association state meet, earned All-America honors by posting one of the top 100 times in the nation during the 2019-20 season. Their best time of the season, 1:31.78, ranked No. 21 among the 100 fastest times in the 200 medley relay. AJ, Jack and Jake graduated in 2020, while Josh will be a junior in the 2020-21 school year.

Josh also earned All-America honors in the 100-yard butterfly, in which he placed eighth in Illinois in 2020. His best time during the season was 49.50 seconds.

Jack White, who finished sixth in 1-meter diving at the IHSA state meet as a sophomore, also earned All-America honors.

Girls Swimming All-Americans

The 200-yard medley relay team of Elizabeth Cao, Jessica Nyborg, Milena Busma and Alexandra Eastmond earned All-America honors with a top time of 1:45.10 during the preliminaries at the IHSA state meet in November 2019. They placed 10th in Illinois. Elizabeth, Jessica and Alexandra will be seniors in 2020-21, while Milena will be a sophomore.

Boys Water Polo

Dima Kobets, who will be a senior in 2020-21, earned honorable mention All-America recognition.
