In the midst of an unfolding global pandemic and the biggest social movement that this country has ever seen, we are yet again confronted with the unsettling implications of rapidly accelerating climate change. Our world is in flux and we believe we have the power and the tools necessary to fix it. At this virtual town hall we will be discussing what got us into this mess and one potential tool to get us out: The Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA).
CEJA is a comprehensive energy reform bill tasked with combating climate change and the problems and injustices it produces.
CEJA promotes jobs, equity and economic opportunity, especially in communities of color, combats climate change, and will help get people back on their feet with good paying jobs in the renewable energy sector. Join us for a discussion on why we — Environmental Justice, faith and conservation leaders — and our champions in elected office are so excited to pass CEJA now! At this town hall event we will hear from local leaders, experts and State Representative Joyce Mason on how the Clean Energy Jobs Act is a major piece of the puzzle on our quest for racial and environmental justice.
Event is sponsored by Clean Power Lake County, Faith in Place, Sierra Club Illinois, and Illinois State Representative for the 61st District Joyce Mason
